A DAUGHTER'S THOUGHTS

"The first picture I was 3 years old - My father was already well into being guided by the RCMP.
The Second Picture I was 14 Years old- A year later, I was forced to make a decision to leave everyone behind, including family, and enter into the Witness Protection Program (never to speak about my past again)
Third Picture - I am now an adult, a mother of two growing boys, and I am now seeing how my past affects them as well. Lived in the narrative of the RCMP's Witness Protection rules for just about 25 years now. Stayed quiet and lived behind a mask, a facade, a made-up reality.
At what point will I be able to live my own narrative, the truth? At what point will the smile in all these pictures become real? At what point will the RCMP see that it has been almost 40 years of my life, not just documents on their desk? Questions I ask myself every time they try to take my voice away and silence me. Where is the Justice?"
